Does health insurance cover Viagra? How much is Viagra with insurance? Does your health insurance carrier pay part of the cost for Viagra, Cialis or Levitra? These pills are so expensive, I wonder if most people are getting help from insurance.

In my opinion it does not. You can try calling your pharmacist and inquire if Blue Cross will pay for it. He should know. Most don't even cover certain life-saving drugs, let alone support a drug to give you a boner.

Some insurance providers cover it. Before an insurance provider even begins to consider it, they will need your medical history and documentation showing that you are dependent on it. Even then some may deny(even though they were supposed to cover it) like mine did. Luckily my doctor did his bit to convince them. I am with Aetna Medicare.

The price now at Walmart is about $35 for one Viagra pill and I have not come across any supplemental insurance that covers Viagra or Cialis. I do know that Medicaid covers the blue pill in some states.

Unfortunately most don't. With Medicare prescription coverage set to take effect in 2006, Congress effectively banned the insurance coverage of erectile dysfunction drugs. In the House, 100 Democrats and 185 Republicans voted for that bill. At that time, the estimate of the cost savings for taxpayers was $2 billion over 10 years.
